5S Implementation Workshop

The best way to learn about 5S is through implementation workshops performed on-site at the organization’s facilities. Experience has proven that the key to long-term success of any 5S project is to accomplish it with a team in which a majority of participants are from the work area concerned. Our consultants work with organization leaders to determine appropriate implementation areas, provide necessary training, and effectively coach the 5S implementation team through all phases of the 5S process.

Who should attend:
Managers, supervisors, and employees of the area where 5S will be implemented.

Duration: 24 Hours (3-day course)

Course Content:

• Day One
  • Teams are introduced to the concepts and techniques of 5S and receive the entire 5S Workplace Optimization curriculum. In addition, teams will perform a 5S audit of their work areas.

• Day Two
  • Teams develop a 5S improvement plan for presentation to management. In addition, the team will develop a zone map for the organization, establish improvement objectives for the target areas, conduct the initial Sort (Red Tagging), and begin Set in Order and Shine activities.

• Day Three
  • Teams complete Shine activities in the target areas, identify Standardize methods and start developing visual manage systems. Teams will also identify methods to Sustain the gains by defining a 5S audit strategy. All workshops conclude with a presentation to management.

• Ongoing Facilitation
  • If desired by the organization, UNF CFQ can arrange and provide ongoing facilitation, progress reviews and support for your teams.
